The historic downtown corridor of Texas City has officially welcomed its newest central hub. Opened to the public in September of 2025, the 6th Street Community Plaza transformed several empty lots into a vibrant gathering place for the surrounding community. Working alongside Clark Condon and the Texas City Economic Development Corporation, our team stepped in as the general contractor to build this highly anticipated downtown space from the ground up.

Our scope of work began with the fundamental site preparation, covering all dirt work, civil and underground utilities routing across the property. From there, we transitioned into the structural element that defines the plaza's footprint. We managed the construction of all on-site buildings and public pavilions, extensive paver work along the primary pedestrian paths, and integrated synthetic turf alongside the fresh landscape package. We also installed dedicated play structures for kids to enjoy, creating a family-friendly environment within the park space.

Water amenities serve as a primary highlight of the new park space, featuring three independent systems tailored for different uses. This included a family-friendly splash pad finished, a central two-part recirculating water feature spanned by a custom pedestrian bridge, and a completely separate splash pad located within the dog park portion of the plaza, making it a functional multi-use environment right on 6th Street. We are proud to have partnered with local leadership and the design team to execute this downtown transformation, delivering a durable community space built to connect local businesses and residents for years to come.
