Delana Jackson joined our team in 2024 and brings a unique perspective to the world of landscape construction. With a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Houston, she has an innate ability to think critically and solve complex problems. Delana began her career in an administrative role within the earthwork and utilities industry, which provided her with an understanding of how accounting and human resources play into project management. Her interest in landscape construction piqued soon after – a pivot into project management would soon follow. Delana thrives on being a team player and asking questions that challenge her to Think Outside.
"I'm definitely a team player; I love working collaboratively with others and picking people's brains."
The fact that it changes every single day. I can leave my house in the morning with a plan, but get a phone call 30 minutes later that completely changes my day.
I did a project for a school, and I was eating lunch near the job site when some teachers came up to me and told me how good it looked. It was a really nice moment.
It means being willing to solve problems, asking questions, investigating, and relying on your team to find solutions effectively. It's not always about having the right answer, but about being willing to propose solutions and get the conversation started.
I'm a big fan of Foxtail Ferns. I think they look so whimsical and fun. For trees, I like Cottonwoods.
I love hiking in the mountains. A lot of my vacations growing up were to the Rocky Mountains, and that's definitely where I feel most at ease.
