Jonathan Evans

Assistant Estimator

Jonathan Evans brings a deep, hands-on understanding of field operations directly to his role on B&D's estimating team. After spending a decade doing physical landscape and irrigation installations in Fort Worth, Jonathan transitioned indoors to leverage his boots-on-the-ground experience behind a desk. Inspired by his father’s 50-year career in construction, Jonathan thrives on the industry’s constant evolution and continuous learning opportunities.

Known for his sharp attention to detail, relentless curiosity, and dedication, he excels at sifting through complex spec books and bid documents to catch the details that make or break a project. Driven by a goal to continuously grow as a full estimator, Jonathan approaches every bid with thorough research and a focus on open-minded problem-solving.

“Just push through. The answers are right there. You just have to be willing to actually do the work to look for them and find them in the plans and specs.”

Are there any unique skills or areas of expertise that you feel set you apart? / What are your key strengths that you bring to your role?

My attention to detail and my research ability. I really like reading through all kinds of documents, whether it's what's required to submit a bid or sifting through the entire spec book to find things that might trip us up. I love doing those types of things.

What project are you most proud of?

Probably the first project I won here, Preston Park.

What would you say it means to Think Outside?

Being open to any and all ideas—no matter how simple or complex—rather than sticking to "the way it's always been done".
