Construction Superintendent

With 30 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry, Richard Matlock brings a wealth of field expertise and leadership to B&D. A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Construction Science, Richard built his foundation in the family cabinet shop before going on to manage major commercial projects, including multimillion-dollar medical and dialysis clinics.

Known for his "superpower" of clear communication and mutual respect on the job site, he takes pride in doing whatever it takes to deliver exceptional results on time and under budget. Whether stepping up to run complex builds solo or mentoring teams on site, Richard’s focus remains firmly on finding solutions.

What is the most unusual or interesting part of your job?

Working on unique projects where each one carries its own individual character.

What is your favorite outdoor space?

The mountains or the beach.

Thinking outside the box and coming up with a solution; being the solution instead of the problem.
