Our team was selected to construct a brand-new courtyard from the ground up at The Kinkaid School, a well-known private education institution in Houston. The project involved a comprehensive scope of both landscape and hardscape work to create a functional and engaging outdoor space for students and faculty to enjoy.

The vision for the courtyard included extensive new greenery. We installed 35 new trees along with a variety of shrubs and ground cover plants, complemented by fresh soil, mulch, and clean steel edging. We also installed a new irrigation and drainage system to support the landscape. On the hardscape side, our work involved laying a significant amount of concrete and high-end stone pavers to create the courtyard's walkways.

This project featured several high-end materials, most notably the stone pavers, which were imported from overseas. We set these on a specialized mortarbed system that hardens like concrete, ensuring a durable and long-lasting finish. To complete the space, we installed premium site furnishings, along with custom-made stone benches, tables, and chairs that elevate the courtyard's aesthetic.

One of our primary challenges was installing the stone pavers along the curved, non-linear walkways. Achieving the right orientation required careful coordination. Through a series of on-site meetings with the general contractor, Linbeck, we established a clear plan. We also navigated the school's tight delivery schedule, successfully coordinating all material drop-offs within a strict daily window to avoid disrupting student activities.

This new courtyard now stands as a high-quality, welcoming addition to The Kinkaid School campus, reflecting a commitment to creating a quality outdoor solution.
